Tour info
Why take this tour?
At Edgewater Outfitter’s our professionally guided and exclusive small group spin and fly-fishing excursions take you to the incredible streams surrounding Hoonah, located on Chichagof Island, Alaska. These remote waterways, including the Spaski River, Game Creek, Kennel Creek and many more, are secretly known to hold some of the best fishing in all of Alaska. Tours are personally guided by Captain Remo, who has over 25 years of guiding and wildlife experience.
The island is part of the Admiralty, Baranof and Chichagof, or ABC, bear island chain of Alaska and is home to the densest population of brown bears in all the world. There are approximately seven brown bears to every one person who lives on these islands. Although there is never any guarantee that visitors will encounter bears, up close encounters with brown bears are extremely common.
Each angler is equipped with their own rod, reel, waders and wading gear then professionally guided to have an Alaskan wilderness experience of a lifetime.
The salmon rich streams are easily accessed by forest service and old logging roads that wind throughout Chichagof Island. After a beautiful scenic drive and a short hike, you will arrive at the destined salmon spawning grounds.
Transportation is provided with a Chevy Suburban LTZ to make the experience as easy, fun and as comfortable as possible.
