Why take this tour?

About this adventure:  In Southeast Alaska and Icy Strait in particular, are some of the best fishing grounds around. Not only do they have big halibut but records show that one fisherman caught his biggest catch inside these waters! You won't want to miss out on all those delicious fresh Alaskan salmon either. Hoonah is just a stones throw from Icy Strait so no time is wasted getting to the fishing grounds and the hooks down! Your captain is the maritime folk hero Captain Billy. He is a local legend in his home of Hoonah, Alaska. With an eye-catching Tlingit name like Deikee Jaak of the Eagle/Shark House, it's not hard to see how this man has been so instrumental for generations on the waters off the Icy Strait. Having begun his fishing journey in the waters of South East Alaska and Icy Strait with his uncles, grandfather, and father at a young age, Captain Billy's knowledge of area waters is unsurpassed and his desire to share it with you is second to none! About the boat: The Silver Spoon is a 36 foot custom aluminum catamaran made by Munson Co Inc. The catamaran hull makes for a nice, fast ride and stable fishing platform. She is fully equipped with all available safety gear and state of the art electronics. Frequently asked questions

All fishing activities require an Alaskan fishing license. You can purchase licenses in Hoonah from our local sporting goods stores, or you can purchase directly from the State of Alaska. We highly suggest pre-purchase of your fishing license online in an effort to save time the day of the outing! To pre-purchase your fishing license visit: https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/Store/Home/Guest
No. We unfortunately do not have the ability to accept credit cards on board the boat.
Any fish you catch, within the limits, are yours to keep if you’d like. We work with a local fish processor to have your catch processed and shipped to your home. If you would like to pay the processor to process and ship, there are easy order form cards for you to fill out on board so that you can keep track of your fish and ensure it is processed to your specifications.

We provide bottled water, chips and cookies on board
Yes, all of our boats have a clean marine head on board
We get this question a lot. Becoming seasick is always an extremely remote possibility. The waters are generally calm during the summer months and on the days when the wind and tide do make the water choppy, the motion of the boat is not of the kind that induces motion sickness. If you are prone to seasickness we recommend Dramamine or a wristband. In the last 10 years of operation we have 3 guest out of thousands get seasick David Wrightson
